I think of how far this ministry has come since 1961…and how exciting it is to be a part of it today. When you think about it, a jail and prison ministry is like most mission fields. Chaplain Pitroff served for ten as a President's Council Chairman, counselor, Bible teacher, preacher, etc. with Good News Jail & Prison Ministry before becoming the first full-time Chaplain in the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, Sanford, FL in 1982. Chuck has received the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry “Chaplain of the Year” award on three separate occasions, as well as an award from the Governor of the state of FL.
